The cookies this site uses include:
Strictly necessary cookies
These are cookies that enable this site to function as it does. An example of a cookie like this is called “DYNSRV” which is used for load balancing to manage server traffic demand. Another example is “wordfence_verifiedHuman”, this is a security cookie which identifies whether a visitor is a bot or human.
www.craftaholique.com wouldn’t work properly without strictly necessary cookies, therefore they cannot be disabled.
Persistent (first-party) cookies
These are cookies that aren’t strictly necessary but are used for performance and can improve your browsing experience. Persistent cookies stick around for a while, so when you turn your computer off and on again, they will still be there. Each persistent cookie has an expiry date and after that date is reached, it will be destroyed by your computer.
An example of this type of cookie is “_ga”. This is a cookie associated with Google Analytics, an anonymous data tracking system I use to help me understand how many visitors I get to this site, the country they are from and which pages they are landing on. This information helps me improve my content, as I can see which pages are popular and which are not. Your IP address will be collected, but in an anonymous form so that it is not personally identifiable. This data will not be combined with any other Google data.

Another example of a persistent cookie is “AWSESS”. This is a tracking cookie from an advertising intermediary called AWIN. In most of my blog posts, I will link to websites where you can buy different materials to make craft projects using my affiliate links. If you purchase something using one of my links, I’ll earn a small commission, at no cost to you. This is one of the ways I earn money from this site, to keep it up and running. This cookie is simply used to remember that you came from my site when you make a transaction.
Many social sharing buttons automatically share the personal data of website visitors to social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter through the use of web beacons and third-party cookies. This sharing of data can happen even without a social sharing button having been clicked on. Such platforms can then track your browsing and serve you targeted ads.
This site doesn’t use third-party cookies. On www.craftaholique.com, a GDPR compliant social sharing tool has been installed that respects your privacy, meaning that you can browse this site without leaving a digital trail. You won’t be making contact with the social media networks until you actively click on a button to share my content.
www.craftaholique.com has no control over any third-party website and it isn’t responsible for your data and privacy if you click through to another website from here. Please take time to read third-party websites’ privacy and cookie policies to understand how your personal data will be used.
