Post comments

If you leave a comment on blog posts at www.craftaholique.com, this site collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string (to help spam detection). An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

You can leave a comment without leaving your name and email address if you choose.

WordPress plugins

www.craftaholique.com uses WordPress “plugins” to identify that you are a real visitor or commenter and not a robot, spammer or hacker. Instagram feed

www.craftaholique.com uses an Instagram Feed plugin to display social media content on this site. As a result, www.craftaholique.com makes requests to Instagram’s servers in order to get the data to populate the feed(s) and to display images and videos. These requests make your IP address visible to Instagram, who may use it in accordance with their data privacy policy: https://help.instagram.com/519522125107875

Cookies

www.craftaholique.com uses a range of cookies to improve your experience when browsing and to enable this site to earn commissions. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone by the websites you visit. Some cookies will contain your personal data, such as your IP address and they may remember you if you come back to this site or if you’ve opted to save your personal data when commenting. For more details on how cookies are used on www.craftaholioque.com, please read the cookie policy here.

Embedded content and third-party websites

Articles on www.craftaholique.com may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles etc.) to improve your browsing experience. Embedded content from third-party websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

www.craftaholique.com contains links to third-party websites that you might find interesting or useful. Please note that www.craftaholique has no access or control over third-party websites and isn’t responsible for your data and privacy if you click through to another website from here. Please take time to read third-party websites’ privacy and cookie policies to understand how your personal data will be used.

What lawful basis is being used for collecting and processing your personal data?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), www.craftaholique.com is required to choose a lawful basis for collecting and processing your data.

For data relating to newsletter subscriptions, www.craftaholique.com relies on the legal basis of “consent” as your explicit consent will be needed in order to email you.

For data collected via blog commenting, email communications, this website’s plugins, and cookies, www.craftaholique.com relies on the legal basis of “legitimate interest” as processing this data is believed to serve the best interests of visitors and this site.

Where will your personal data be stored?

This site uses MailChimp, a third-party email client, to send newsletter emails to subscribers. Your data in this respect is collected via MailChimp’s sign-up form and stored in their servers, which are based in the United States (the legal ground for transferring EU citizen’s data out of the EU is an adequacy decision).

Your personal data captured via leaving a comment on blog posts is stored in this website’s database, on a cloud server run by a UK web hosting provider, TSO Host.

When you contact this site, your data will be stored on the site owner’s PC within an email system and in a smartphone device.

Your personal data collected by this site’s plugins is stored in this website’s database and on the relevant plugin provider’s servers (and those of their subprocessors if required) which are based in the United States.

Who will your personal data be shared with?

Your personal data in respect of subscribing to Craftaholique’s newsletter will be shared with MailChimp who uses tracking technologies such as cookies and web beacons to carry out data collection and processing.

Your data in relation to commenting on a blog post or via contacting this site will not be routinely shared with anyone else.

Any data collected from plugins when you visit this site is shared with the relevant plugin providers and their subprocessors to help them monitor and reduce spam activity on this site and protect it from being hacked.

The only other times that your data may be shared is if this site is required to divulge such information by law or if www.craftaholique.com transfers to new ownership, in which case your personal data may be disclosed as part of this transaction and only to the extent permitted by law.

Data pertaining to some cookies may be shared with relevant third parties such as advertising partners and Google Analytics.

How is your data being protected?

www.craftaholique.com is hosted by TSO Host, a company that is compliant with the GDPR. You may read their privacy policy here. In addition, this blog has some very good security measures in place, provided by a security plugin called WordFence, such as a firewall and real-time threat scanning to help prevent it from being hacked. Two-factor authentication is enabled for the login on this site.

MailChimp, the email client used by this site, participates in and has certified its compliance to the Privacy Shield framework. They have their own privacy policy which you should read if you wish to subscribe to this site’s newsletter – it can be found here.

The system used for email communications (Microsoft Office 365 for Business) complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield. In addition, a sufficient antivirus package has been installed onto the site owner’s PC and on their smartphone. This identifies any potential threats through regular scans and provides alerts when any plugins this site uses requires an update, therefore reducing the risk of cyber-attacks. The site owner’s smartphone is protected with fingerprint authorisation technology and a pin, and it has a tracking feature to enable swift location and retrieval in the event that it is lost or stolen.

www.craftaholique.com only uses cookies and trusted plugins that require a minimum amount of personal data to be captured.

How long will your data be retained for?

If you become a blog subscriber, www.craftaholique.com will retain your personal data until you ask for it to be deleted, or until this site shuts down. In the latter case, your data will be deleted at that point. Please note that if you unsubscribe from blog emails, your data will still be stored in Mailchimp (as unsubscribed) so as to prevent you from being accidentally emailed in the future.

Any email correspondence from you may be kept for up to one year, as a record of your enquiry and to identify you if you get in touch again.

Any personal data relating to a comment left by you on a blog post will be kept as long as this blog is up and running (indefinitely), or until you inform www.craftaholique.com that you no longer wish to have your data included.

The cookies used on this site have various expiration dates. But you can clear these from your browser at any time.

How will collecting this information affect you?

In relation to data collected for Craftaholique’s newsletter, this site will be able to keep you up-to-date with the latest blog posts from www.craftaholique.com and any craft-related content or offers you may be interested in. www.craftaholique.com promises not to spam you or use your data in any other way.

You shouldn’t be affected by leaving a comment on a blog post or by browsing this site, however, please note that all websites can be hacked. With that said, www.craftaholique.com has taken every precaution to prevent this from happening by using WordFence to optimise this website’s security.

Hi all! It's been a very long time since I've post Hi all! It's been a very long time since I've posted here. I've been working on a new venture - surface pattern design. This is my first attempt at a seamless pattern. It's part of a collection I'm working on called 'Mum's Garden'. Mum loved hedgehogs, and they always frequented her garden to enjoy the food she put out for them. 😍 Honest opinions! What do you think? Could this work for wrapping paper, notebook covers, etc? Thanks for looking! #surfacepatterndesign #creativebusiness #creativeentrepreneur #graphicdesign #digitalart #hedgehogs #patterns #seamlesspattern
