Feel like some inspiration for your jewellery making? Mix it up a bit with some fabulous fabrics and fibers!
This is a review about the book Felt, Fabric and Fiber Jewelry by Sherri Haab.
I bought this book originally as I was looking for information on making felt beads. I was really happy to also find some easy introductions to different needlework techniques! Such as basic embroidery and sewing stitches, rug hooking, wet and needle felting, crochet stitches and knotting and braiding.
Felt, Fabric and Fiber Jewelry by Sherri Haab contains 20 unique fiber jewellery projects from ribbon, cord, felt, wire, thread, beads and buttons. Projects include beautiful cuff bracelets, chokers, embroidered rings, brooches, fabric flowers, funky necklaces and mixed media fabric charms. The photos in this book are really inspirational and the project instructions are easy to follow.
And you don’t have to break the bank to get started as you can use fabric scraps and other bits and bobs from your craft stash to make some of these projects! You’ll just need some basic equipment for some of the projects such as crochet hooks, needles, threads and some jewellery findings and pliers.
