If you have a dig around in your jewellery box, you might find some old jewellery that you no longer wear, or perhaps even a few dusty broken bits and pieces. Why not add a new lease of life to them by breaking them down and making a completely different item of jewellery?
Take this charm bracelet for example. I used components from old earrings and necklaces and mixed them with glass pearls and Swarovski crystals to make this one of a kind piece of vintage jewellery! I added wire wrapped beads here and there to the design to put my own stamp on it and I attached each charm to a silver plated chain.
You can pick up some great old pieces from car boot sales and Ebay or check out your Grandma’s old costume jewellery (if she doesn’t want them!) for a real vintage feel.
So, don’t throw your old unused or broken jewellery away. You might think it’s worthless, but as a beader, all components are valuable and can be used in many different projects!
