I’ve had these dark blue ceramic oriental style beads in my bead stash for a long time. I loved them when I saw them but it took me ages to figure out what to do with them! I eventually settled on some pretty cool long earrings made with gold plated chain.
This is such a quick beaded earring project to make up that I just had to share it. I made another pair using some coral ceramic round beads that had large centre holes. Check out this tutorial below…
To make these, I used the following materials:
Gold plated chain, earwires and jump rings (in the original top version, I also used eyepins to slot through the focal beads as these had smaller centre holes).
Coral ceramic beads like these ones. (Check out these vintage cloisonne blue round beads if you want to make some similar to those in the top photo!)
Chain nose and flat nose pliers along with wire cutters.
Step 1
Make sure you’ve trimmed two equal lengths of chain around 4 inches long. And yep – it’s that easy. Simply slot a piece of chain through a bead and attach both ends to a jump ring as shown in the photo above.
Step 2
Attach the jump ring to an earwire. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make the second earring. That’s it you’re done!
Once you have your supplies ready, you can whip these earrings up in around 5 minutes. Great for if you need to make something last minute. I hope you liked this tutorial, if so please take a minute to share this online with your social media followers!
