8 Brilliant Crafty Reads from Around the Web

Best craft blogs from around the web

*Affiliate links are included in this post.

I’m not feeling my best this week, dear readers! I’m most definitely under the weather and unfortunately I haven’t had the energy to put together another tutorial for you, although I have had plenty of ideas for tutorials that I’ll bring to you in the future.

But anyway, don’t worry as I’m not going to leave you high and dry! I haven’t done a round up post in ages, so thought I’d share with you some of my favourite crafty reads from other blogs in recent weeks.

If you’re in need of crafty inspiration, check out these fantastic craft tutorials below.

1. How to Make Rainbow Dyed Flowers

I’ve seen dyed flowers around before and have always wondered how to achieve that effect without ruining the flower. In this post from Pop Shop America, there’s a great tutorial on how to dye roses in rainbow colours (and even black)!

2. Petal Dyed Yarn

Continuing with the flower theme, this post from Childerhouse explains how to add splashes of colour into yarn using the natural dye from petals!

3. DIY: Wire Wrapped Stone Bracelets

This is an awesome DIY jewellery-making project using drilled stones and wire. I love how you can stack them and make them into a set of eye-catching stacking bracelets. Check out the tutorial over at 5 Feet of Style here.

4. After Shower Hair Turban

Now here’s a knitting pattern that not only looks exciting, it’s also really useful too! Find out how to knit a microfibre shower hair turban over at My Poppet Makes!

5. IKEA Paper Lampshade Hack

Mod Podge: it’s a crafter’s staple ingredient – yet I’ve only just got around to buying some of this! Can’t wait to try it out – I’ve been inspired by this project from Dnilva where floral napkins and mod podge has been used to upgrade an IKEA lampshade!

6. Pom Pom Palm Clutch Tutorial

This colourful pom pom palm clutch bag is perfect for summer! At Riva La Diva, you’ll find a great tutorial on how to make this – and it looks like even beginner sewers (like me) could make a success of it too.

7. DIY Waterdrop Solar Lights

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this before! Take a look at these beautiful DIY garden solar lights shaped like waterdrops that Handan from The Navage Patch has put together. There’s a helpful tutorial explaining how these are made with step by step photos.

8. How to Turn Ribbon into Statement Earrings

Zen from Hapiness Wherever has been busy creating some amazing jewellery from ribbons, beads and chain! Check out her tutorial on how to make statement earrings from ribbon here.

Finally…

I hope you find these great blogs as inspiring as I do – I always love checking out what other people are making. I’ll be back next week with some more of my own crafty posts!

Before you go though, why not check out some of these amazing handmade showcase posts too?

Hi all! It's been a very long time since I've post Hi all! It's been a very long time since I've posted here. I've been working on a new venture - surface pattern design. This is my first attempt at a seamless pattern. It's part of a collection I'm working on called 'Mum's Garden'. Mum loved hedgehogs, and they always frequented her garden to enjoy the food she put out for them. 😍 Honest opinions! What do you think? Could this work for wrapping paper, notebook covers, etc? Thanks for looking! #surfacepatterndesign #creativebusiness #creativeentrepreneur #graphicdesign #digitalart #hedgehogs #patterns #seamlesspattern
